Who is responsible for your data
THE EDIT ROOM, run by Ms.Chi, decides how your personal data is used for the class. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- When you sign up: your full name, email address, phone number and Telegram username.
- When you pay: a payment reference, the amount, the payment method type (for example card or bank transfer) and whether it succeeded. HitchPay handles your card or bank details; we never see them.
- If you message us on Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp: your chat ID with our messaging tool, so we can send your payment confirmation to the same chat.
- When you ask to join the Telegram group: your Telegram name, username and user ID, so we can match your request to your payment.
Why we use it
- To take your payment and confirm your place.
- To let you into the private Telegram group.
- To send you your confirmation and class messages.
- To answer your questions and sort out payment problems.
We use your data because we need it to provide the class you paid for. We don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the class:
- HitchPay, to process your payment.
- Telegram, where the class takes place.
- ManyChat, if you contacted us by DM, to send your confirmation message.
- DigitalOcean, which hosts our website and database on servers in London, United Kingdom.
Some of these services store data outside Nigeria. We only use providers that protect it with appropriate safeguards. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up and payment records for as long as we need them to run the class and keep proper financial records, then delete them. In practice that means up to 2 years after the class you took.
Cookies
Our public pages don't set tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie we use is a security cookie for the class admin's login, which visitors never receive.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email chichi@theeditroom.training and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Age
The class is for people aged 13 and over, which is Telegram's minimum age. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should pay and agree to these terms for you.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
